• Ok so I managed to get perfect focus on her cute nose, but missed the eyes, I should have gone with a smaller aperture I guess.

I had ISO set quite high as the light was poor, I dont have an external flash yet or a defuser that I could use on the pop up, so I set the aperture to 1.8 and i now realise it was to large.

I tried to edit the eyes the best I could, how did I do?

Oh and she is an 8 year old cat who lives at the shelter I volunteer at

  • indeed, it's difficult to see how you improved if we don't see the original. But, I can say that this pic still draws the attention to the nose IMHO. Not per se a bad thing, but if you wanted the eyes to be focus, that did not quite work. For that, a reshoot would be needed. And 1.8 is great for this kind of pic.

  • Rachel, you did a fine critique on your pic but without seeing the original vs the refined I think the more experienced folk (not me) will be hard pressed to answer your question.

    Nice Tabby.

  • I would agree with the previous comments Rachel, but I would like to add that I like the composition. The rug and wicker add to the photo.
